BIOGRAPHY: Brittany was your average middle child, as in she was rebellious, stubborn, always trying to get attention. She got into trouble, a lot, growing up, for drinking, parties, etc. And yet somehow she still managed to graduate high school and even get a college degree. She never thought she'd be a science teacher. With both her parents in the medical field, she must have learned something, because she ended up pursuing an education degree in science. It probably helped that her older brother went to med school and even her twin sister was a science wiz. It must have been hereditary. She originally went to college to keep her allowance that her parents gave her if she was in school. And she chos her major because of her family, originally, but it turned out she really enjoyed her classes, and she loved it even more when she did her student teaching. For awhile she thought she would just do teaching and that'd be it.
And, of course, in college she did more of the same, partying, staying out late, last minute test studying. She even still had the same boyfriend around. They had met in high school, he was her best friend, since the day they met, and they hung out a lot. But one day, it just happened. They fell in lust/love. They went on to date a long time. But then that night in her junior year of college, he just decided it was over. He just said he couldn't see it going anywhere. She was devastated. She was dragged out that night by her roommate who wanted to console her. To make a long story short, Brittany got trashed beyond recognition. She ended up sleeping with a friend of a friend and getting pregnant. She did tell the guy, once she remembered who he was. But the guy wanted no part of it.
Brittany doesn't believe in abortion, and her mother wouldn't allow it anyway. She told her that she had to take responsibility for it. Brittany doubled up on classes her last year of college, after her student teaching, and with her parents help she graduated a semester early, right before the baby was born.
The summer of 2011 was a hard one. She had a newborn baby to look after, plus get her life back on track. She was convince by her father, who was still not over this whole mess, that if she went to medical school that he'd help her out with an apartment and money until she graduated and got a job. She looked over NYU's catalog, and decided that a doctor wasn't something she wanted to be, but that she would do the dental hygienist program. He agreed because he wanted her to have a stable job, because teaching wasn't guaranteed anything. That's how she ended up back in NYU, after she graduated already.
So here she is a 21 year old college graduate, with an 8 month old baby, and a full class load trying to be a dental hygienist. Her mom watches the baby in the daytime while she's in school, then she's all Brittany's. Having a baby makes it hard to have a life. She can't date like normal girls her age. She can't even just go our with her friends on weekends. She'd love to find her true love, a good daddy even for baby Ava, but so far she hasn't had luck. No one her age wants a ready made family.
